⚡ Breaking: Alexander Isak Staying at Newcastle — Liverpool Move Pushed Back to January
Newcastle United striker Alexander Isak will not be leaving St. James’ Park for Liverpool this summer, with any potential deal now postponed until the January transfer window.
Liverpool had tabled significant bids in the region of £110–130 million, but Newcastle’s ownership refused to sanction a sale without a top-level replacement secured. With the transfer deadline looming, that requirement has not been met.
Manager Eddie Howe has reiterated that only fully committed players will be part of his plans, making it clear that Isak remains central to Newcastle’s attack for now.
The club’s Saudi-backed owners are not entirely opposed to selling their star forward in the future, but the timing of this window made a deal impossible. A revisit in January 2026 now looks the most realistic scenario.
Former Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher has warned that extended uncertainty could prove disruptive, but Newcastle appear confident they can keep Isak focused on delivering goals in the first half of the season.
For now, the Magpies have won this battle — Alexander Isak stays.
